PASSIVE HOUSE

The first Passive House Certified Multi-family building in Alberta.  

This project will use 50-90% less energy than a standard building.

ENERGY EFFICIENT

Passive buildings use a combination of super insulation, thermal bridge free design, airtight construction , highly insulated windows and innovative heating and cooling equipment to provide a home that is energy efficient, comfortable and ecologically sustainable all at the same time.

SOLAR POWERED

The solar photovoltaic panels combined with high efficiency make the building use 90% less energy than a traditional building – lowering utility costs and taking a measurable step to fight the climate crisis.

Project Timeline

COMPANY FOUNDATION

Spring 2020
T5M Connect is created with a vision of building housing to create a more connected and vibrant city for future generations.

COMMUNITY CONSULTATION

Summer 2020 - Summer 2021
Beginning with a sign on the property asking for community members' input, 12 months of community consultation is undertaken to ensure transparency and community collaboration.

APPROVAL

June 2021
Edmonton City Council votes unanimously to approve rezoning of North Glenora site

CONSTRUCTION

Started December 2021
Demolition of the existing houses in November 2021. Excavation begins shortly afterward.

COMPLETION

Started December 2021
Construction is scheduled to be completed in late fall of 2022
